Winter Solitude

I spent my Christmas break with my parents in the wonderful town of West Salem in southwest Wisconsin. West Salem will always hold my heart and the Christmas season there is beyond words…I love it so much. I stumbled across a very simple poem that captures the feeling of being outside in that cold, frigid and gorgeous weather. I spent about half my time there walking, running, leaping, snowshoeing and strutting through the frozen wilderness.

in a world of one color
the sound of wind

Now I am back in warm and sunny Florida…actually the lows this week are approaching the low 30’s so go figure.
