JUST UPDATED with Yoga in the Wild SEQUEL!
“We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.”
― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods
You know that filming and training indoors is very difficult for me. Any chance I have I must dispatch into the Colorado wilderness to film with my trusty sidekick, Addie. Being in nature takes me back to my formative years in Wisconsin where a day was not a success unless I came reluctantly home for dinner sporting grass, dirt and, often, blood stains canvassing my body. Play time back then consisted of hours and hours of running, biking, wrestling, football-ing, creating and generally operating at an elevated pace. No cell phones = absolute BLISS! Those golden years (1980-1988-ish) have always been my main inspiration for running Sean Vigue Fitness and my own personal life. Get outside, play, frolic, give constant thanks and come home stinking like God knows what! In Colorado I find myself covered with more than just grass stains…we’re talking deposits from our local wildlife i.e. elk, coyote, bear, fox and deer. It’s all in a days work.
Ok, so how convenient when everything falls into place and we have the good fortune to share in these workouts. I must say that I’m never without my training manual when traversing the wild. I recommend getting yours!
